Captive Management
CTC's captive management activities are carried out principally in Bermuda through CTC Insurance Management (Bermuda) Ltd. Captives are also managed by the CTC group in the Isle of Man, and in other domiciles through independently-owned partner management companies.
Captive insurance is a form of self-insurance, and enables the insured to achieve a cost advantage through risk retention. A captive also allows risk to be retained and structured in a way which enables the reinsurance markets to be used efficiently and cost-effectively.
CTC captive resources can be engaged at any stage in the identification, evaluation and implementation of a captive insurance solution. Our capabilities include corporate risk assessment, retention analysis and captive feasibility studies. As well as stewarding clients through the assessment and implementation process, CTC provides ongoing insurance management and advisory services in the areas of underwriting, claims administration, cash management, investment administration, financial reporting, and corporate governance. We provide client insurance and reinsurance companies with the ability to tailor services to their exact requirements, and owing to our independence from insurance companies, brokers and other service providers, clients can rest assured of objective and value-added advisory services.
CTC is also the leading manager of “rent-a-captive” or segregrated cell companies which are a turn-key alternative to the traditional owned captive, providing ease of implementation and exit as well as efficient ongoing management of a captive insurance program.
